Yorkshire’s Legal People and Kevin Sinfield attend Wakefield Gala Dinner
Chadwick Lawrence, also known as Yorkshire’s Legal People, recently supported their local community as lead sponsors of the annual Theatre Royal Wakefield Gala Dinner and Variety Performance on Thursday 2nd March, accompanied by Rugby League legend Kevin Sinfield and guests.
This year’s gala event raised over £20,000 to contribute towards Theatre Royal Wakefield’s community work with young people in the local area, and will provide a springboard towards the opening of the new Centre for Creativity in the city.
The team at Chadwick Lawrence are long standing supporters of the Theatre, having sponsored the 120th anniversary Gala in 2015 to help raise funds towards future improvements of the outstanding Grade 2 listed building. The firm are passionate about their commitment to Wakefield and the thriving community within the city, and gladly support charitable causes and the performing arts.
Representatives of Chadwick Lawrence joined a host of other guests in attending the event at Unity Hall, before moving to the Theatre to join additional guests in enjoying a sell-out variety performance.
The performers included Theatre Royal Wakefield’s resident dame, Chris Hannon, and was headlined by singer Lizzie Jones, whose emotional performance of Abide with Me at the 2015 Challenge Cup Final received a standing ovation. Performers of the evening also included Crofton Silver Band, Wakefield Rock Choir, Sarah Watson & Will Stead, magician Thomas Anthony, Bite My Thumb, Theatre Royal Performance Academy, Normanton Sports Acrobatics and Rule the Waves.
