Separation Agreement Solicitors

It is important that matters relating to finances and children are properly negotiated and clearly set out to avoid any future disagreements.  If you are divorcing then you have the option of entering into a Consent Order (see section: Financial Settlements after Divorce) or alternatively having a Separation Agreement.

If however, you are ending a relationship where you are unmarried then a Separation Agreement is the only real option that you have to record how you will separate your finances and care for your children.

Such Agreements can contain any variety of provisions which are unique to a couple’s circumstances. It is important to ensure that there is a formal record of a separation and that the detailed arrangements regarding the financial division of assets and the future care of the children are properly set out.
