
Zoe Allen joined Chadwick Lawrence in 2016 and has developed significant expertise in complex litigation, with a particular focus on corporate recovery, insolvency litigation, contract disputes, and construction litigation.
She regularly advises both corporate and private clients, bringing strategic clarity and a client-focused approach to every matter.
Zoe is experienced in managing a wide range of legal issues, including:
- Debt proceedings in the County Court and High Court;
- Insolvency proceedings acting for debtors, creditors, or office holders;
- Contractual disputes across various sectors, including defective works, payment and valuation disputes, negligence, and expert determination;
- Director, partnership, and shareholder litigation;
- Construction disputes involving developers, builders, subcontractors, land/homeowners, and third-party professionals (e.g., consultants, architects, and surveyors);
- Alternative Dispute Resolution methods, including mediation, arbitration, adjudication, and enforcement.
She is also deeply committed to professional development and legal education. As manager of Chadwick Lawrence’s work experience and student engagement programmes, Zoe regularly supports the next generation of legal professionals by delivering mentoring and legal training to students and organises meaningful placement opportunities, designed to bridge the gap between legal and practical experience. Zoe also hosts a pro bono law clinic in partnership with the University of Huddersfield, offering on-the-spot legal advice to clients while mentoring law students in a practical setting.
Beyond her day-to-day legal work, Zoe plays an active role in the professional community. She is Chair of the R3 Yorkshire New Professionals Committee for restructuring and insolvency professionals and serves as a member of the Technology and Construction Court Users Committee, helping shape best practices within these specialist areas.
