Chadwick Lawrence Relaunch Charity Golf Day
Chadwick Lawrence was proud to host our charity golf day on Friday 18 July, a fantastic event that brought together colleagues, clients and friends for a brilliant afternoon in support of two incredibly worthy causes.
This year, we were delighted to relaunch the event at the stunning Wakefield Golf Club, welcoming 64 participants split into 16 teams of four. With a mix of Chadwick Lawrence staff and their clients playing together, the event provided an excellent opportunity to connect, compete and raise money for two local charities, Wakefield Hospice and Theatre Royal Wakefield.
The day kicked off at 12pm with lunch, refreshments and an opportunity for everyone to catch up. Before teeing off at 1.30pm, attendees heard from Paul Campbell, who welcomed guests, followed by introductions to both charities from Emma Flannagan (Wakefield Hospice) and Sarah Shooter (Theatre Royal Wakefield). After 18 holes in glorious sunshine, guests returned for dinner, raffle prizes and the awards ceremony, with Barnsley FC taking home the winner’s trophy.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved from those who took part to those who donated raffle prizes – we’re proud to share that the day raised over £6,000, which will be split evenly between the two organisations.
Supporting vital work in our community
The two charities we supported this year continue to make an enormous impact across the Wakefield area.
Wakefield Hospice has been providing specialist care for people with advanced, progressive and life-threatening illnesses since 1990. Their work is entirely reliant on local support and donations, making events like this one essential.
Theatre Royal Wakefield, with its roots dating back to 1894, plays a unique role in the region far beyond its performances. Their outreach work supports disadvantaged young people, socially isolated older people, refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals improving their mental health through creativity and community.
“A huge thank you to Chadwick Lawrence for organising such a fantastic golf day. We’re incredibly grateful to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the raffle proceeds – your support means so much to us and will make a real difference to the work we do.”
Emma Flannagan, Partnership Fundraiser, Wakefield Hospice
“We were absolutely delighted to take part in the Chadwick Lawrence Golf Day and honoured to be selected as one of the chosen charities. Every penny raised helps us continue our essential work across the Wakefield community – from tackling loneliness among older people, to empowering young people with learning disabilities, to sharing the joy of Pantomime with schoolchildren. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave so generously on the day.”

A team effort for a great cause
“It was a great privilege to host such a successful and enjoyable day, both for the company, our clients and the two amazing charities we raised money for. It’s fantastic that we were able to reward two very worth organisations whilst having such an enjoyable day.”
Neil Wilson, Managing Partner, Chadwick Lawrence
We’re incredibly proud of the generosity and enthusiasm shown by everyone who took part, from golf teams to prize donors and supporters. Events like these remind us of the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together.
A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed, we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
