Chadwick Lawrence is now Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
After holding the Cyber Essentials Accreditation for the last five years, Yorkshire’s Legal People, Chadwick Lawrence Solicitors, have been awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation. This is the highest level of certification the Cyber Essentials Team offer. It’s a globally recognised achievement and a massive endorsement to the secure level of data protection within our organisation.
Cyber Essentials is a widely recognised, government-accredited scheme that protects organisations from some of the most common cyber security attacks. The firm participated in a series of rigorous tests to accomplish this – the process consisting of an IT system audit against a baseline of security standards. Measures included:
- A sample of computers and devices chosen by the assessor to ensure devices were configured as per the scheme.
- Vulnerability scans performed on machines to confirm that patching and basic configuration was appropriate.
- External port scans of all internets facing IP addresses were conducted to ensure no clear and obvious misconfigurations or vulnerabilities were identified.
- Tests were conducted on default email/internet browser to confirm how well they are configured to prevent execution of fake malicious files.
This achievement reinforces the great deal of importance we at Chadwick Lawrence place upon our data protection and process of risk mitigation – reassuring clients that this is at the heart of what we do and their information is secure.
Dan Bell, Head of IT says: “We are pleased to have achieved the Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation. Up until now, our day-to-day vigilance has helped us retain a strong defence against these threats and we will do whatever we can within our control to mitigate against these risks. I want to give a special thanks to the IT department who worked diligently to make sure we had everything in place to achieve this accreditation.
Members of the IT department involved in the certification were Dan Bell, Head of IT, and Richard Lingard and Darren Williams (infrastructure) and Rob Flooks and Tom Leech (software).
