Watchdog report that numbers of maternity staff “below recommended safe levels”
An October 2014 report by the Care Quality Commission has indicated that certain Maternity Units are so short staffed that they place patients at risk.
It was found that there was a frequent problem with shortages of midwives and Consultant Obstetricians and that there were cases where the ratio of midwives to patients was below recommended safe levels.
As specialist birth injury and cerebral palsy solicitors, we at Chadwick Lawrence are concerned that these shortages of staff are putting mothers and babies at risk of serious injury, including the risk of brain damage to babies and deaths of mothers and babies.
Our expert clinical negligence lawyers at Chadwick Lawrence LLP are specialists in cases involving brain damaged babies and cerebral palsy birth injury claims.
