Improvements made at ‘inadequate’ Sheffield health centre
After failing a CQC inspection earlier this year, a Sheffield walk-in health centre has said it has made “significant improvements”.
The health watchdog rated Sheffield City GP Health Centre inadequate overall and placed it in special measures.
Inspectors said staffing was insufficient and patients had reported long waiting times.
OneMedicare, which runs the clinic, said it had taken appropriate action and was preparing for re-inspection, adding that following the visit, it had recruited more GPs and updated its clinical system.
In a report to Sheffield City Council, it said “Both Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Quality Team and OneMedicare Senior Team have undertaken ‘mock’ inspections of the service, in May and September respectively, finding that the service has made significant improvement to practice, and that safety standards are being made.
“The OneMedicare Senior Team continue to work with the local team on a daily basis within the service to drive further improvement, support with embedding improvements made, and promoting a safety focused culture.”
