DOUBLE WIN FOR CHADWICK LAWRENCE AT THE KIRKLEES APPRENTICESHIP HUB AWARDS

Yorkshire legal firm Chadwick Lawrence and its staff are today celebrating a double award win at the Kirklees Apprenticeship Hub Awards.

The Kirklees Apprenticeship Hub recognises outstanding local businesses that work with apprentices, as well as worthy individual apprentices that have demonstrated talent, growth and exceptional work ethic.

Chadwick Lawrence, known as Yorkshire’s Legal People, scooped the prestigious SME Employer of the Year for 2016, while the firm’s apprentice Lauren Ruscoe won the coveted 19+ Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Award 2016.

For the past four years, Chadwick Lawrence has pioneered a successful legal apprenticeship scheme through CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) and in the past 18 months, as part of the National Apprenticeship Scheme, employed people in administrative roles, developing their skills with valuable on-the-job training.

The scheme forms part of the firm’s vision and values for its employees as, Managing Partner, Neil Wilson, explains, “Chadwick Lawrence is very proud of the apprenticeship scheme we have adopted.

“The award for the firm is recognition of the hard work and effort everyone puts in to make the scheme work and Lauren is living proof of that and she deserves great credit for a superb achievement.   

“We have a clear vision and set of values at Chadwick Lawrence and these awards demonstrate that the core standards we have adopted as a business are put into action every day of the week.”

Lauren Ruscoe is just one of Chadwick Lawrence’s success stories. She joined them in an administrative role at the beginning of 2015 on the National Apprenticeship Scheme. Since then, she has gone above and beyond the call of duty in her as Hr Manager, Lisa Bailey, explains:

“Lauren regularly goes above and beyond her contractual duties and has become well recognised for providing a first class service. She has undertaken some mentoring, coaching and guidance of other trainee office assistants and has helped implement new processes to ensure excellent continuity of service. 

“Her progress under the apprenticeship programme is remarkable and she deserved full credit and recognition for what she has achieved.”
