Dementia Action Week 2018

Chadwick Lawrence has been supporting this year’s Dementia Awareness Week throughout our offices across West Yorkshire with a series of events for both staff and our local communities.

On Monday we shared a video with our staff, made by our staff, talking about the importance of the 5 key messages at the core of the Dementia Friends initiative which helps us to support those living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.  We followed this on Tuesday with a Dementia Friends Information Session held at our office at Paragon Business Village in Wakefield to which members of the public and local businesses were invited to learn a little about dementia and its impact.

Wednesday brought cupcake day with each of our offices baking up a storm resulting in some lovely treats for our staff and funds raised to support the Alzheimer’s Society in their vital work.  On Thursday we hosted our second Dementia Friends Information Session, this time at Morley Town Hall where again people from the community and local business were invited to join us.

The week was rounded off with an art installation at our Wakefield office featuring the ‘Reaching out for Dementia’ posters created by our staff featuring some lovely actions they carry out in their everyday lives to support those living with dementia.  The wall of fame showcases some of the impressive artistic talents we have here.
