Yorkshire’s Legal People – Keeping an eye on employee’s health
Most business owners know what it’s like to successfully navigate their way through the array of legislation that exists in the workplace. From employment law, to health and safety rules, there’s a lot to keep on top of. But did you know that companies working in particular industries must also play their part in looking after their employees’ eyes?
Chadwick Lawrence Solicitor’s latest subscriber to their Employer Support Protect employment and HR scheme is West Yorkshire based Opticians; Valli Group who are all too aware of the importance of eye care in the working environment.
As of March 2015, the ESP (Employer Support Protect) Team will not only become the HR and Employment advisors to Valli Opticians, who have 8 stores in the West Yorkshire and Humber area. They will also be working with the 30 strong team to increase awareness throughout the region, of the responsibility employers have to provide eye care schemes for staff, that use equipment with a display screen.
According to Managing Director Moin Valli; “Employees should have an eye examination every one to two years. As well as checking vision, tests can also detect the early warning signs of serious conditions such as high blood pressure, glaucoma and diabetes.”
“Our mutually beneficial working partnership with Chadwick Lawrence means that we have access to the experience and knowledge of the ESP team, not only to benefit our staff internally, but to also strengthen the knowledge we pass on to our customers, giving us enhanced insight into relevant legislation allowing us to tailor our offering accordingly.”
Holly Butterworth, Lawyer at Chadwick Lawrence commented on the partnership: “We are delighted to be working alongside Moin and his team, in both a consultative capacity and as a partnership to increase awareness of this wellbeing issue throughout the region.”
