In the News

There have been lots of relevant employment law/HR updates this week.

Worker Protection Bill to become law

The legislation followed an enquiry in 2018 by the Women and Equalities Committee into the extent of sexual harassment at work. The proposed bill will place a ‘preventative duty’ on employers to take “reasonable steps” to prevent sexual harassment against employees. However, the bill will not place any obligations on employers in relation to harassment of employees by third parties such as customers or suppliers. The bill has now been approved by MP’s and will become law before the end of the year.
